On November 14th and 15th, United Way of Broome County hosted its anticipated Partnering for a Purpose conference, an annual event designed to support and empower local nonprofits in their missions and strengthen their organization. The conference is held virtually, making it accessible for nonprofit leaders, staff, and volunteers to engage with expert-led discussions and gain valuable insights.
The conference spanned two days and featured six dynamic, hour-long sessions, each aimed at addressing critical facets of nonprofit work such as engaging donors and working with student interns, volunteers and employees. With a focus on fostering collaboration, sustainability, and growth, the sessions provided attendees with the tools and knowledge needed to create lasting impact within their communities.
A Virtual Experience with Lasting Impact
While the conference was virtual, attendees had opportunities to interact with speakers and fellow nonprofit professionals through Q&A segments. The panel of speakers consisted of those belonging to several nonprofits and institutions throughout Broome County, including Rural Health Network of South Central NY, Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments, SUNY Broome and Binghamton University. Whether participants were first-time nonprofit leaders or seasoned professionals, there was something for everyone to take away from the conference.
Looking Ahead: Continuing the Momentum
The Partnering for a Purpose conference is just one of many ways United Way of Broome County supports local nonprofits in strengthening their capacity to serve the community. By offering this conference annually, United Way continues to foster a collaborative and supportive environment where nonprofits can thrive and work together toward common goals.
