Executive Director’s Leadership Academy

Professional Development for Our Change makers

Registration is now open for the Executive Director Leadership Academy.

The ED Academy is designed for both new and early career non-profit Executive Directors who have up to three years of experience. This FREE, six-session workshop series includes:

1. The Executive Director – Board of Directors Relationship.
2. Human Resources, Including Managing Workplace Diversity
3. Resource and Fund Development
4. Strategic Planning, Including Organizational Values, Mission, and Vision
5. Finance and Contract Management
6. Challenges to Non-Profit Organizations
Sessions will be held on Consecutive Thursdays from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon beginning Thursday, January 11, 2024, and ending Thursday, February 15, 2024.

The two-hour workshop sessions will be structured as facilitated discussions where participants can ask questions, and share personal experiences, challenges, and successes with their peers. An important goal is to establish a supportive Executive Director learning community that continues after the workshop series ends. Each session will begin with an informative facilitator introduction to the topic. Facilitators Sharon Chesna and Jack Salo have many years of experience serving as Executive Directors of non-profit organizations in the region and have also served on the Board of Directors for local, regional, and state non-profit organizations.

Slots are limited to a maximum of 20 individuals for the entire series. We encourage you to register early and no later than December 20th. There is no cost to participants. The ED Academy is generously supported by United Way of Broome County, The Community Foundation for South Central New York, Stewart W. and Willma C. Hoyt Foundation and the Conrad and Virginia Klee Foundation. For any questions, please contact Paula Perna at [email protected]
