Earlier this month, Campaign Chairperson, Dave Culbertson, announced we surpassed our 2019-2020 Annual Community Campaign goal of $1,818,000. What an accomplishment, with strong support throughout the community!

 So, what happens now?

United Way of Broome County is proud to be a convener of private, public, municipal, and non-profit sectors. When you support United Way,you make more opportunities possible for people in our community. United Way’s strategy unites our network of Community Partners under a set of shared goals and ties our support to measurable change and finding lasting solutions for individuals, children, and families.

Through the dedicated time and effort of our Impact Council volunteer members, we are proud to announce the 2020-2021 Community Strategic Grants Program recipients. Our staff and volunteers rigorously study and personally monitor each organization that receives United Way funding. We offer our partners training and technical assistance, fiscal management and operations guidance, volunteer and board member recruitment, and much more.

Through the generous investments of philanthropists, donors, corporate partners, foundations, and more, United Way can provide grant funding to 34 local non-profit organizations in Broome County! 100% of all funds raised go directly to community projects and programs.

Through these non-profits, 51 projects and programs are receiving support that will help produce lasting change and support our community’s basic needs, health, education, and financial stability, and help to achieve our community visions.

Each year, United Way Community Partners provide community programs, services, and resources to over 100,000 people in Broome County; we are excited to see the positive, lasting impact these projects and programs will have on our community.
