Day of Caring: What You Can Do for Our Community

Aug 3, 2021 | Blog

It’s that time again! United Way of Broome County is gearing up to host our annual volunteer service day, Day of Caring, on Friday, September 10, and Saturday, September 11. Historically held around this time, Day of Caring aims to bring together volunteers throughout Broome County to honor and remember those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001.

Fenton Free Library is looking to clean up its bookshelves. Come to help wipe the dust off the covers for the next bookworm!

Fairview Recovery Services is looking to tidy up their fleet of vehicles that are crucial in transporting their clients.

Crime Victims Assistance Center is looking for help to paint their porches and some interior rooms. Gather your friends, families, and coworkers to help brighten up this space!

Are you ready to make an impact? To see what other volunteer projects are happening in our community on September 10th and 11th, head over to uwbroomevolunteers.org to sign up for a Day of Caring project.

In addition, we are asking area residents to participate in our annual Day of Caring drive! The “Community Baby Shower” drive aims to collect baby items to be distributed to those in need throughout our community. Are you looking to set up a workplace drive?
