Women United
Join an international network of people enacting positive change in their local communities.
In conjunction with United Way of Broome County (UWBC) staff, the Women United group shall attract, enlighten and engage community members for United Way by creating a passionate network of people who create impactful change in our community through the focused investment of their time, talent and resources.
Mission
The mission of Women United is to catalyze positive change in the community, consistent with United Way’s goals, through philanthropy, volunteerism and advocacy, while empowering women to lead that positive change.
Goals
Volunteerism
Promote volunteerism amongst our membership and their network, as well as the community at large.
Networking & Advocacy
Engage agencies we are connected to and foster new relationships, identifying community needs that UWBC and its partners can work to meet.
Fundraising
Membership to Women United will include a donation to UWBC, 100% of which will go towards community programs. Additionally, Women United will plan and execute fundraising events to contribute to Annual Campaign.
Member Criteria
- Attend Women United meetings
- Participate in fundraising events
- Donate meaningfully to UWBC’s annual campaign
- Promote Women United events to personal and professional networks online and in-person
- Advocate for UWBC in public and private venues
