Please know that at the United Way of Broome County, Inc., the privacy of your personal data is extremely important to us.

We provide you this Donor Privacy Policy explaining how we process and maintain donor information provided to us either online or offline

This Policy may be changed or updated from time to time, with our current policy always being available to our donors via posting on our website, along with the date of last policy modification. No other formal notification will be made. We will consider a subsequent donation by you to signify your agreement with our new policy.

We make every effort to limit who receives the personal information you provide to us as a donor (such as your name, address, zip/postal code, e-mail address, telephone number). Therefore, we do not trade, sell or share your personal information with third parties unless they are carrying out what appear to be legitimate business activities, operations or functions on our behalf. Further, we do not send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.

In today’s world, even secure databases can be hacked or compromised by criminal or illegal activity. While we undertake reasonable and appropriate steps to safeguard your data, unfortunately agencies including ours cannot guarantee that your personal data cannot be stolen or subject to illegal use. If we discover that such an event has occurred, we will of course promptly comply with all disclosure requirements required of us under New York State law.

By submitting information to us you acknowledge, consent and agree that United Way of Broome County, Inc., may access, read, preserve and disclose the personal information you provide to us as a donor in order to: (a) comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; (b) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues; (c) respond to your requests for customer service; and/or (d) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of United Way of Broome County, Inc., its visitors, or the public.

Also, and only with your prior written consent, we may also provide your personal information to the agency you have designated as the recipient of your generosity.
