Day of Action 2021

Day of Action is quickly approaching! Taking place Friday, June 18, and Saturday, June 19, local non-profit agencies will be hosting 4-hour long volunteer projects. School Supply Drive

Now through June 30, 2021

 

United Way of Broome County is seeking donations of school supply items for its annual Day of Action Drive, kicking off on June 1, 2021, which provides children in local after-school programs with the basic tools needed to succeed in the classroom. The drive will benefit children at the after-school programs at the following organizations: Boys & Girls Club of Binghamton, Broome County Gang Prevention, Broome County Urban League, Children’s Home of Wyoming Conference, Jewish Community Center, Wilson Children’s Center, and YMCA of Broome County. Donations will be accepted at United Way of Broome County offices, located at 101 S. Jensen Road, Vestal, NY, 9am-4pm.

Based on the expressed needs by local after-school programs, United Way is collecting the following supplies:
  • Backpacks

  • Calculators

  • Colored Pencils

  • Crayons

  • Erasers

  • Folders

  • Highlighters

  • Index Cards

  • Large Ziploc bags

  • Loose Leaf Notebook Paper

  • Markers

  • No. 2 Pencils

  • Rulers

  • Spiral-bound/Composition Notebooks

  • Three-ring Binders

  • Gift cards that can be used to purchase such items are also accepted
