The COVID-19 Community Respond Fund Alliance Grantees

Apr 29, 2020 | Blog

The COVID-19 Community Respond Fund Alliance, led by United Way of Broome County, Community Foundation for South Central New York, The Conrad and Virginia Klee Foundation, The Stewart W. and Willma C. Hoyt Foundation, George A. and Margaret Mee Charitable Foundation, and Roger Kresge Foundation, is working to distribute funds to local programs supporting those affected by COVID-19.

Since the start of the fund, selfless individuals and local organizations, including Visions Federal Credit Union, donating $15,000, the Rotary Club of Vestal, donating $2,500, and M & T Bank, donating $25,000, have joined the force, furthering the Alliance’s ability to help our community quickly, during this time of great need.

To date, the COVID-19 Community Response fund has provided funding to the Salvation Army, Good Shepard, ACHIEVE, Jewish Community Center, Citizen’s Action, Binghamton Rescue Mission, Volunteers of America, and Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments (VINES), with applications being reviewed and approved weekly.

These programs help our community in countless ways, from helping people with special needs, to feeding those in need, and providing shelter to those who need it. During these tough times, it is important to remember that even though stores and businesses have closed, people’s essential needs continue to be a priority.
