Welcoming New Board of Directors Members!

We would like to thank everyone who attended the 2019-2020 United Way of Broome County Campaign Kickoff & Annual Meeting. This amazing event was held last week for supporters, collaborators, volunteers, and our community to celebrate accomplishments and share the organization’s future commitment to Broome County. Special awards were presented to the local businesses and organizations that have run exceptional fundraising campaigns as well as individual volunteers that contribute to the improvement of our community. The Annual Meeting updated the community on United Way funded projects and programs, our revitalized Community Commitment, and introduced new and returning Board of Directors members. We are delighted to have the following individuals join the United Way of Broome County Board of Directors!


Jon Tooley

Jon Tooley is the Administrator of Public Relations at UHS, where he serves as a liaison with UHS’ nonprofit stakeholders including the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society and others. Jon currently serves an interim position on the United Way of Broome County Board of Directors and is an active member of the Marketing & Development Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and the Partner Accountability Committee. Jon served as Community Relations Director of United Way in Broome County in the 1980s.


Desiree Ford

Desiree Ford is a Digital Communications Manager at Binghamton University where she assists with undergraduate and graduate recruitment efforts. Desiree is also an active member of United Way of Broome County’s Emerging Leaders Society, The Colesville Dollars for Scholars, The Greater Binghamton Chamber’s Young Professional Alliance, and a member of the Community Foundation for South Central NY’s Young Professional Advisory Board.


Nicholas Spencer

Nicholas Spencer is a Commercial Account Executive with Smith Brothers- The Partners Insurance. Nick serves on the Guthrie Hospice Charity Gold Tournament Committee, is the Volunteer Committee Chair of United Way of Broome County’s Emerging Leaders Society, and an active member of the organization’s Strategic Volunteer Engagement Committee.


Lisa Schuhle

Lisa Schuhle is the Office for Aging Director where she works to consistently meet the needs and serve older persons. Lisa currently leads the Age-Friendly Project for Broome County, began the BC Senior Games over 28 years ago, and has served on the Buddy Walk, Down Syndrome Awareness Walk, committee for over 22 years. She is committed to our community and keeping it a safe place for children, families, and older residents.


We are looking forward to a great year ahead with our new and existing Board of Directors. With your help, we will continue to make a stronger, more vibrant Broome County!
