ELS’s Fitness Friday

Jul 14, 2020 | Blog

Calling all parents and kids!

Looking for a way to stay physically active together? United Way of Broome County’s Emerging Leaders Society has teamed up with a special guest to create Fitness Friday just for you!

A play on of our previous event, Sweat it Out Saturday, Fitness Friday aims to gather local school-aged kids to get together and get active, virtually!

This special event will be led by Binghamton Central School District high school Physical Education teacher, Melinda Ligeikis. Sound familiar? Melinda became a well-known name, not only in our community, but around the country when she was featured on Good Morning America in the early stages of COVID-19. She has worked to  keep children physically active and engaged through her daily physical activities on social media.

Fitness Friday is  divided into two separate classes on Friday, July 24.

Parents and children, Kindergarten through 5th grade, are encouraged to join at 11am!

6th through 12th grade can join at 11:45am. Each session is 45 minutes long and full of energetic physical fun!

This event is free with the option to donate $10 to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund. To register and find more information, visit here.
