Everyone Deserves to Thrive–Not Just Survive

Timely access to health care isn’t something that always happens for those in our community who need it most. Every day, people in need who struggle with a mental health crisis, chronic illness or addiction have urgent health needs that are not being met.

211 alleviates the crisis by connecting people with emergency counseling, treatment for addiction and vital health care services in real time to get them the help they need, when they need it.

211 is a free and confidential service used by millions of people across the U.S. for not only health assistance, but also to access:

  • supplemental food and nutrition programs
  • shelter and housing options and utilities assistance
  • emergency information and disaster relief
  • employment and education opportunities
  • services for veterans
  • addiction prevention and rehabilitation programs
  • reentry help for ex-offenders
  • support groups for individuals with mental illnesses or special needs
  • a safe, confidential path out of physical and/or emotional domestic abuse

What kind of impact does 211 have in our communities? In 2018 alone, 211s throughout the U.S. answered more than 11 million calls and nearly 1 million texts, chats and emails, providing over 12 million connections to help. In the Susquehanna River Region alone, 211 helped over 39,000 people in 2019.

211 is not like other programs that simply patch people through to agencies. No matter the situation, caring resource specialists are available 24/7 to listen, truly understand the need and make the connection to the health care everyone in our community deserves.

The strength of our community depends on the health of the people who live here. Share and support 211 to help ensure that everyone in our community has the chance to connect to a lifetime of good health.
