The Mansion on Walnut Street will be hosting a community event on August 10,, 2017. This event is to educate local residents about the opportunities The Mansion offers and informs the neighborhood about other non-profit programs. As a way for United Way to get to know the community, the Summer Soirée, will be an evening full of food, fun and entertainment.
The United Way of Broome County opened a satellite office at The Mansion on Walnut in January of 2017. Located in an area of Binghamton where there is a high poverty rate, The Mansion serves as a community center. The space is also home of the local chapter of the Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative, the Binghamton-Broome Anti-Poverty Initiative (BBAPI).
Local North of Main residents are invited to the event; the Summer Soirée will have representatives from United Way of Broome County, BC HEARS, and The Neighborhood Heritage and Sustainability Project and other local non-profits. The Salvation Temple Church will be there with a light chicken dinner. Join us August 10 from 4:30-7:30pm.
