Leadership Giving

GEORGE F JOHNSON SOCIETY

Named in honor of George F. Johnson, founder of the Endicott Johnson Shoe Factory and who made an indelible mark on our community by helping to provide for the welfare of Broome County residents.

The Society recognizes the generous spirit of individual and family leadership giving in three levels:

  • Gold ................$5,000 - $9,999
  • Silver ...............$2,500 - $4,999
  • Bronze .............$1,000 - $2,499

ALEXIS DE TOCQUEVILLE SOCIETY

Named in honor of Alexis de Tocqueville who came to America in 1831. One of his most important observations was Americans hold in common a unique willingness to work for the public welfare – a tendency to lend faithful support to neighbors and countrymen, especially in times of need.

The Society recognizes individual and family philanthropic leaders in four levels:

  • Ordre de Fraternite ...............$75,000 - $99,999
  • Ordre d’Egalite ......................$50,000 - $74,999
  • Ordre de Liberte’ ...................$25,000 - $49,999
  • Members de la Societe’ .........$10,000 - $24,999

THOMAS J WATSON AWARD

Named in honor of Thomas J. Watson, Founder of IBM Corporation, for his exemplary personal and corporate contribution to Broome County.

This award recognizes the generosity of combined corporate and employees giving in four levels:

  • Platinum .................over $100,000
  • Gold .......................$50,000 - $99,999
  • Silver ......................$25,000 - $49,999
  • Bronze ....................$10,000 - $24,999
