The new school year is right around the corner and that means students and parents all over the community are gathering up their supplies. Back-to-school shopping is typically a highly anticipated activity that arms students with all the critical supplies they need to make the school year a success. Equally important, it brings excitement for the year ahead! Sadly, many students and families in our community do not have the resources necessary to make these back-to-school purchases.
A core priority of United Way of Broome County is preparing and enabling children and their families to succeed in school, work, and life. Providing backpacks and school supplies to children in our community not only eases the financial burden on families, but provides the necessary tools for children and students to be successful throughout the school year.
